Wrong environment

What it means

A test key was sent to the live API, or a live key to a test environment.

Common causes

• A tobie_sk_test_ key was used against https://api.tobie.team.
• A tobie_sk_live_ key was used against a test or preview deployment.

What to do

Use the key that matches the environment. Live keys start with tobie_sk_live_ and test keys with tobie_sk_test_.

Retry: only after a fix. The same request fails the same way until you change the request, the credential or the resource.

This response also carries WWW-Authenticate, which says how to authenticate and where the sign-in metadata lives.

Over MCP, the same failure is a tool result with isError: true, the code wrong_environment and retryable: false.
