Approval principal invalid

What it means

The credential that proposed this write is no longer valid, so the approval cannot run.

Common causes

• The API key that made the proposal was revoked or expired.
• The person who proposed it lost the role it needed.

What to do

Propose the write again with a valid credential.

Retry: only after a fix. The same request fails the same way until you change the request, the credential or the resource.

Over MCP, the same failure is a tool result with isError: true, the code approval_principal_invalid and retryable: false.
